Console and commands

The Console tab

The Console tab on the main page shows the server's log as it runs: the last 600 lines, warnings in amber, errors in red, and your own commands in gold with an AC> in front. The log stays when you switch tabs or pages. Older log files are on the Maintenance page, section Logs.

To send a command:

  1. Wait until the server state says Running. Before that you get "Commands are accepted once the world is running."
  2. Type the command in the field next to AC>, without a leading dot: server info, not .server info.
  3. Press Enter or Run. The answer appears in the log.

Commands typed here run with full rights: you do not need a GM account for them. They are the same commands a GM types in the game's chat with a dot in front, except those that need a character in the game (a target, your position), which only work in the game.

A command may be shortened while it stays unambiguous: tele name is the same as teleport name.

The Commands tab

The Commands tab holds cards for common commands, so you do not have to remember their syntax. The row of groups at the top picks what is shown; the Search field searches every group by title, description and command text.

Each card has fields for its values, a preview line with the exact command that will be sent, and a Run button. The buttons are active while the world is running. After a run, the line at the bottom says "Sent: … The answer is in the Console tab." Cards that can hurt (restart, shutdown, kick, ban, reset all bots, reload world tables) have a Run… button that turns into Sure?: press it a second time to confirm.

Character at the top of the tab picks the character the Character cards work on. It lists the characters of your own accounts (not the bots'), those in the game first, as "name · level · in game". While there is no list (no characters yet, or not loaded), it is a text field where you can type a name.

The Restart card counts down, stops the world and starts it again: the launcher sees the server's restart and starts it anew, as with the Restart button on the Server panel. The Events list says "Server restarting". The same goes for server restart <seconds> typed in the console.
