Beastmaster
What it does
The Beastmaster package adds White Fang, a Beastmaster NPC that hands out tamed beasts. Instead of hunting down a rare spawn, you pick a pet from a list of more than a thousand beasts. White Fang also sells pet food and, for hunters, opens the stable.
Out of the box only hunters can use White Fang. Other classes can too once you change one setting, see Pets for every class.
Meet White Fang
You have two ways to reach the NPC.
Call it where you are. Any character can type:
.beastmaster
White Fang appears next to you for 2 minutes. You can call it again after 120 seconds.
Place it for good. With an account that has GM rights (see Console and commands), stand where the NPC should be and type:
.npc add 601026
.npc add temp 601026 places it only until the next restart. To remove a placed NPC, select it and type
.npc delete.
The reminder you see on login names the command, .beastmaster.
Adopt a pet
- Talk to White Fang. You need level 10 or higher.
- Choose Browse Pets or Browse Rare Pets and page through the list.
- Pick a beast. It becomes your pet at once, happy and ready.
You can have one pet out at a time: if you already have one, abandon it or put it in the stable first.
Exotic pets (Browse Exotic Pets, Browse Rare Exotic Pets) are for hunters with the Beast Mastery talent. The settings Exotic pets need Beast Mastery for hunters and Exotic pets for other classes change that.
Buy Pet Food opens White Fang's shop. Visit Stable is shown to hunters only.
Pets for every class
To let every class adopt pets, untick Hunters only in the launcher's settings (see Settings).
A non-hunter who adopts a pet also learns the pet abilities a hunter would have, such as Call Pet, Dismiss Pet, Revive Pet, Mend Pet and Feed Pet. Unlearn Hunter Abilities in White Fang's menu removes them again.
Keep track of your pets
With Keep a list of tamed pets on, every pet you adopt is remembered, and My Tamed Pets in the menu lists them with the date, family and rarity. For each one you can:
- Summon it again, when you have no other pet out;
- Rename it: choose Rename, then type
.petname rename <new name>in chat, or.petname cancelto stop; - Delete it from the list.
Names go through a word filter. The list of blocked words is plugins\mod-npc-beastmaster\conf\profanity.txt in
the LonelyIce folder; changes to it are picked up without a restart.
Settings
In the launcher: Settings, group Beastmaster under Plugins (or the gear button next to the package on the Plugins page). Every setting takes effect when you save (the .reload badge): with the world running, the launcher reloads the config for you.

which the launcher creates the first time you save the group (before that, copy mod_npc_beastmaster.conf.dist
from plugins\mod-npc-beastmaster\conf next to LonelyIce.exe and save it as
configs\modules\mod_npc_beastmaster.conf), then run reload config in the launcher's console or restart the

Changes in LonelyIce
LonelyIce applies two small patches: the module looks for profanity.txt in its plugin folder instead of the
modules folder of a source build, and the login reminder names only .beastmaster (the original also mentioned
a .bm command that does not exist) and shows your own login message exactly as you wrote it. Nothing else is
changed.
