Auction House Bot
What it does
On a server where you are the only player, the auction house stays empty. The Auction House Bot package fixes that with two parts that you switch on separately:
- Seller. Puts items up for auction in the Alliance, Horde and neutral auction houses and keeps each house at a target number of auctions (250 by default).
- Buyer. Bids on and buys auctions that other characters, you included, have put up, as long as the price is within what it is willing to pay.
Both parts work through one character that you give to the bot. Out of the box both are off and no character is set, so the package does nothing until you finish the steps below.
Before you start
- Install the package from the Plugins page of the launcher (Installing packages).
- The commands below need an account with GM rights. See Console and commands.
Step 1: a character for the bot
The bot sells and buys in the name of a real character. That character is not meant to be played: if you browse the auction house with it, the search can hang on "Searching for items...". Keep it on its own account.
-
Create an account for the bot, on the launcher's Accounts tab (level player), or with this command in the game chat or in the launcher's console (the console takes commands with or without the dot):
.account create ahbot <password> -
Log in to the game with
ahbot, create a character with any race and class, give it a name you like seeing on auctions, then log out again. You do not need to enter the world with it. -
Log in with your own account and look up the numbers the bot needs:
.lookup player account ahbotThe answer looks like
Characters at account AHBOT (Id: 2)followed by a line such asAuctioneer (GUID 7). TheIdis the account id, theGUIDis the character id.
The account does not need GM rights; a plain player account is enough.
Step 2: the launcher settings
- In the launcher, open Settings and the group Auction house bot under Plugins (or the gear button next to the package on the Plugins page).
- Set Bot account id and Bot character guid to your numbers from step 1, for example
2and7. - Tick Bot puts items up for auction, and Bot buys players' auctions if you want the bot to buy your auctions too.
- Press Save. With the world running, the launcher reloads the config and the bot starts at once; otherwise it starts with the server. The houses fill a little on every update, up to Items added or removed per cycle items at a time.
If you leave Bot character guid at 0, every character on the account becomes a bot. That is why the bot
gets an account of its own: never put your own account id there with guid 0.
Settings
Every setting of the group takes effect when you save (the .reload badge): with the world running, the launcher reloads the config for you.

empty | Item ids separated by commas; replaces all other choices. Empty: everything the filters allow. |
More filters are not in the launcher: binding types (No_Bind, Bind_When_Equipped...), whole groups such as
DisableGems or DisableKeys, per-class items (DisableWarriorItems...), item level ranges
(DisableItemsBelowLevel...) and the trade goods' twins of the level filters. They are in
configs\modules\mod_ahbot.conf in your server folder, which the launcher creates the first time you save the
group (before that, copy mod_ahbot.conf.dist from plugins\mod-ah-bot\conf next to LonelyIce.exe and save
it as configs\modules\mod_ahbot.conf). Each key has a comment in the file; after editing it, run reload config
in the launcher's console or restart the server.
Commands
The .ahbotoptions command changes the bot while the server runs. It needs GM rights and also works in the
launcher's console. Most options take an auction house id: 2 Alliance, 6 Horde, 7 neutral.
.ahbotoptions help
.ahbotoptions seller 1
.ahbotoptions buyer 0
.ahbotoptions minitems 2 500
.ahbotoptions maxitems 2 500
.ahbotoptions ahexpire 7
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
seller <0/1>, buyer <0/1> |
Switch the seller or buyer off or on until the next restart. |
usemarketprice <0/1> |
Switch market pricing off or on until the next restart. |
minitems <ah> <n>, maxitems <ah> <n> |
Lowest and highest number of auctions the bot keeps in that house. |
percentages <ah> <14 numbers> |
Share of each quality among the listed items; the 14 numbers must add up to 100. Run it without numbers to see their order. |
minprice, maxprice <ah> <color> <n> |
Price range for a quality (grey, white, green, blue, purple, orange, yellow). |
minbidprice, maxbidprice <ah> <color> <n> |
Starting bid as a percentage (1 to 100) of the buyout. |
maxstack <ah> <color> <n> |
Largest stack for a quality; 0 means as large as the item allows. |
buyerprice <ah> <color> <n> |
How many times the vendor price the buyer is willing to pay. |
bidinterval <ah> <minutes>, bidsperinterval <ah> <n> |
How often the buyer bids and how many bids it places each time. |
ahexpire <ah> |
Removes all of the bot's auctions from that house. |
The per-house values (minitems and everything after it) are saved in the world database, table
mod_auctionhousebot, and stay after a restart. By default every house keeps 250 auctions and the buyer places one
bid a minute.
