AoE loot

What it does

With the AoE loot package, opening one corpse collects the loot of the other corpses around you into the same loot window. After a pull of five mobs you click once instead of five times.

There is nothing to set up: install the package from the Plugins page (Installing packages) and it works on the next start of the server. On login you see a short line saying the module is running.

How it works

Right-click any corpse after a fight. The window that opens holds:

  • the gold of all nearby corpses, added up;
  • their items, sorted with the best quality first and with equal items stacked together;
  • the loot of the corpse you clicked, as usual.

Quest items you still need from the other corpses go straight into your bags, only as many as your quests ask for.

Corpses count as nearby within 55 yards of you (the Range, yards setting). A loot window has room for 16 rows; what does not fit stays on its own corpse, so loot again to pick it up. Corpses that are left with nothing are cleared.

Some loot is left alone and stays on its corpse: skinning loot, items that are waiting for a group roll, and items that the group's loot rules give to someone else.

Turning it off for yourself

.aoeloot off
.aoeloot on

Your choice lasts until the server restarts; after that AoE loot is on again.

In a group

AoE loot also works in a group and follows the group's loot method: except under free for all, items reserved for another member or waiting for a roll are not pulled into your window. Untick Also in a group to switch AoE loot off whenever you are in a group.

Settings

In the launcher: Settings, group Area loot under Plugins (or the gear button next to the package on the Plugins page). Every setting takes effect when you save (the .reload badge): with the world running, the launcher reloads the config for you.

Setting Key Default Meaning
Area loot enabled AOELoot.Enable on Turns AoE loot on for everyone.
Range, yards AOELoot.Range 55 How far from you corpses are included, between 5 and 100 yards.
Also in a group AOELoot.Group on Allow AoE loot while you are in a group.
Message on login AOELoot.Message on Show the line about the module on login.

The settings are kept in configs\modules\mod_aoe_loot.conf in your server folder. The comment above AOELoot.Message in that file describes the group option by mistake; the key only controls the login message.

The module's authors also suggest making looted corpses vanish sooner, so a big pull does not leave a field of bodies. That is a core setting the launcher does not show; it is in configs\worldserver.conf in your server folder, 0.5 by default:

Rate.Corpse.Decay.Looted = 0.01
